- Walk in the gorge and surrounding areas where some of the most important discoveries of early human ancestors? remains were made by Louis and Mary Leakey.
- Dramatic dry scenery of gorge, monoliths ans suroounding scrubby desert. Millions of years ago, the area was a large lake with very fertile shorelines. Around 500,000 years ago, earthquakes diverted a stream which cut down into the sediments, revealing paleoanthropological heaven in the walls of the new gorge.
