WALK SUMMARY
This Atlantic archipelago has hugely varied - and fascinating- walking, from the perfect volcano of Fogo to sheer Santo Antao to rough Santiago.
Fogo is a proper volcano, with all the scenic and genealogical accoutrements. A not-to-be-missed day walk if you are there.
The consensus is that Santo Antao is the most beautiful of the islands, a walkers' paradise of cliffs and canyons, streams and vivid forests.
A lovely all-year climate - Cape Verde lies off Senegal in west Africa. Enjoy superb beaches and coastal scenery in between the tough stuff.
