Caldera Rim, Santorini
Key information: Caldera Rim, Santorini
- A superb walk, with outstanding views out over the vast, sea-filled caldera of the Thera volcano, which exploded in around 1,600 BC, reputedly destroying the Minoan civilisation on Crete hundreds of kilometres away.
- This would be a Top 100 walk were it not for the depressing encroachment of modern holiday developments, which significantly reduces the overall experience.
