WALK SUMMARY
Cross the central ridge of the southern Mani, following old mule tracks up arid slopes hiding fertile patches to the high ground, then dropping to the ruins of a pair of classical temples at Aigila (Kionia) and a small abandoned monastery; and on to the coast near Nimfi.
The ruins are very collapsed, but magical and history-laden in their peaceful setting.
An excellent and varied 4.5hours: quite rough walking. If you want to return to the start, head back from the temples.
