Key information: Hasan Dagli
- Spectacular scenery around this 3,268m dormant volcano south-west of the Ilhara Valley and some 70 km south-west of Goreme in Cappadocia - a brilliantly different add-on to a Cappadocia expedition.
- Tough, but very rewarding, 8hr round trip to the summit. Big views over the Taurus mountains will delight you. And you can make shorter walks on the lower slopes.
- If you start at Helvadere, you can take in some fine ancient ruins as well.
- For a two-day trip from Goreme (including Ilhara), see Lonely Planet Turkey. This page is still at an early stage of development: please let us have your ideas and photos!
