WALK SUMMARY
The mighty Dachstein are a sheer crown of dramatic jagged limestone peaks and cliffs rising to almost 3,000m on its south-western rim.
Kleine Gjaidstein is a small peak behind the main summit ridge near the cablecar top. It has stunning views of the heart of the highest area and is a fun climb of an hour+ there and back (more with view stops) with some cables or iron stepped sections. But you won't be alone.
You can take a klettersteig (via ferrata) on to the larger Gjaidstein peak along the ridge.
