WALK SUMMARY
Superb, classic volcanic cone within a huge crater, with a fascinating landscape and environment around it. For many years unhikable because of extreme volcanic activity, but now potentially accessible. Check!
You can hike to the lava flow on the flanks in 4-5 hrs. If you can climb on, it is 4 hrs to the summit (but assume a 3+day expedition). Guide needed!
This is demanding walking in remote mountains with uncertain weather, where altitude can cause real problems. Come fully prepared, including proper acclimatization.
