"I walked this during the last two weeks of April 2018 between Wissembourg and Chatenois which took 13 days walking.

A beautiful walk through beech and pine forests and even vineyards near Andlau and Barr. An excellent path which was rarely rough and never muddy despite the fact that most paths in the UK at this time were a quagmire, possibly due to the sandstone nature of the underlying rocks at the beginning of the walk and the amazing weather, up to 27 degrees on some days.

Generally gentle ascents and descents so not too arduous for old legs (my walking companion was in his 80s). Accommodation in Refuges, Chambre d'hote, bed and breakfasts and hotels with a youth hostel in Saverne. Some difficulties faced in finding somewhere to eat in the evenings and many restaurants and hotels were closed, some permanently but others probably because it was early in the season.
